Quintessential? Maybe I’m missing something Ron, but this looks like a raw image. Is it meant to be an example of a raw shot before post. Glamor photography is all about post production…
Sylvor, thanks for the feedback. Exactly what do you think this image needs in the way of post processing?
And for the record I didn’t say this was a glamour image, but a beauty image, which are different.
I don’t mean to come to your site and cause trouble 🙂 All art is subjective, and there is no “right way”. The shot is beautifully exposed and well composed. There is no doubt in my mind your a very competent photographer. With that in mind, I’d have added a lot more contrast, added a slight bleach effect to the skin tone and added sharpening around the eyes.
Here’s an example. Doing edits to a low res jpeg isn’t the optimal process, but this quick example may explain what I mean. After all, a picture is worth a thousand words…
Sorry, It seems your blog doesn’t accept external html links in posts.
I didn’t think you were causing trouble, I was just curious. As you say, art is subjective. This image does actually have a quite a bit of post production, mostly fixing skin and some stuff in her hair.
I looked at the source of the page and the link is in your comment, but when I follow it the image is password protected, so I can’t see it.
